Manager arrested for molesting a junior colleague

A 24- year old women lodged a complaint with Delhi Police against a manager who tried to molest her and harassed her incessantly. Earlier she had complained to her superiors in the company who failed to initiate the action against the accused. The inability of the management to nail the offender and the constant harassment drove the woman to quit her job in disgust. In this clear case of sexual harassment, the accused has been charged with:
*Making physical advances towards the victim
*Using suggestive language
*Sending obscene messages on cellphone
*Abusing her in public
*Physically assaulting the victim causing injury to her person


Three Police Officers Suspended
Three police officers posted with the police control room have been suspended for not taking action against a constable who allegedly outraged the modesty of a Delhi University student. Ahead constable of the Maurice Nagar police station was suspended for not registering this case when the student approached the police station.



65 Year old woman forced into committing Sati
Even in this age of women's emancipation and liberation from bondage of social stereotypes women continue to suffer cruelty in the hands of society. A resident of Tamoli Patna village of Panna district in Bhopal, 65 year old Kuttibai was forcibly put on funeral pyre of her husband by a crowd in the presence of policemen. When police tried to stop the people from pushing the hapless women into the funeral pyre of her husband, they were chased dragged and stoned by a 1000 strong crowd attending the cremation. It is learnt that Kuttibai was not having cordial relations with her deceased husband and was not staying with him at the time of his death. Even her two sons did not try to stop her from sitting on the funeral pyre. A case has been registered against the group that cheered and forced Kuttibai into committing sati. Fifteen people have so far been arrested for assaulting policemen, rioting and attempted murder of Government servants. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the entire incident. National commission of Women has decided to depute a delegation of four members to probe into the unfortunate incident.
